A perennial with a special charm.
Origin: Italy, Switzerland, France, in the Alps: grassland and screes.
Distinction: Award of Garden Merit (A.G.M.) from the Royal Horticultural Society.
DIANTHUS pavonius has up to three large flowers on a short stem. Slight variation in color from pale to purplish-red, bearded and the backs of the petals buff. Excellent species for the rock garden.
